Sungwook Park is known for using the Deombeong Buncheong technique. He maintains the classic ethos of Korean bowls and jars, with the experimental touch of Buncheong. One can appreciate how the white slip flows on the gray clay underneath the lower part of the utensils. The way the surface cracks in the kiln offers a more dramatic effect than white porcelain. He continues to experiment and innovate using this old technique of ceramic making.
박성욱 작가는 덤벙 분청을 주로 사용하는 작업을 한다. 그의 작업은 한국의 전통적인 그릇과 항아리에 담긴 정신을 계승하면서도 분청의 실험적인 면을 끊임없이 탐색하는 특징을 지닌다. 기물의 표면, 특히 바닥 부분에서 화장토가 바탕흙 위에 흘러내리는 드라마를 볼 수 있고, 가마 안에서 생기는 표면 화장토의 균열 또한 백자 보다 극적이다. 박성욱 작가는 가장 오래된 기법을 사용하여 가장 새로운 형태를 만드는 작업을 계속하고 있다.
